ABOUT

Providing free clothing for Outer Cape families since 1991

Our organization was started by two single mothers in Eastham, MA. They had a vision of swapping used clothing with other mothers, and began in one of their garages where they stored donated clothes. They soon outgrew their space, and in 1996 finally settled in our current location.

For more than 30 years, we have provided free clothing, shoes, linens, toys and books for the whole family, primarily to residents of the four towns of the Outer Cape.  Although this does not address all the economic challenges facing our clients, it does free up their limited resources to be used for housing, food and medical care.

We also work with our affiliate, the Outer Cape Committee Against Domestic Abuse (OCCADA). OCCADA serves to educate the community about domestic abuse and connect abused individuals with available services.

Mass Appeal is governed by a Board of Officers and Directors who reside on the Lower and Outer Cape. We were awarded 501(c)(3) status by the Federal government and are recognized as a non-profit by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Our funding comes from individual and corporate donations, town grants from Eastham, Wellfleet, Truro and Provincetown; local fund-raising events and foundation grants in support of particular projects.

We invite you to join us by donating time, energy, and if possible, financial support.
